VRPD Make Arrest In Shooting Case

On 10-16-13 at approximately 11:30 PM, Villa Rica Police responded to Hampton Court Apts. on Industrial Blvd. due to a person being shot. The initial investigation revealed that Devin Johnson was shot in the parking lot of Phase Two of Hampton Court Apts. Johnson was flown to Grady Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. Johnson has since been released from the hospital and is still recovering from the injuries.
During the investigation Detective Lynn Seagraves determined that the shooting was the result of a drug deal that went bad. The shooter was identified as Jonathan Bray, 28 years old, from Lithia Springs. Jennifer Williams, 27 years old, from Douglasville was identified as the driver of the getaway vehicle that drove Bray to and from the scene. Timothy David Cotton, 36 years old, from Dallas Ga, was identified as being with Bray and Williams and pointing a firearm at the victim during the incident.
Bray, Williams, and Cotton were arrested during a routine traffic stop by Hiram Police Department on Oct. 31st. During the arrest three firearms were located in the vehicle. One of the firearms has been identified as stolen from a vehicle in Villa Rica in 2006. Another firearm has had the serial number removed and is suspected as being stolen.
Detective Seagraves also identified Thomasina Marie Williams, 53 years old, from Villa Rica as the person that set up the drug deal. Wilbur Miles Harris, 18 years old, from Villa Rica was also identified as being involved in the drug deal that resulted in the shooting. Arrest warrants have been issued for Harris and police are still trying to locate him.
Thomasina Williams has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Trafficking Meth. She is currently in the Carroll Co Jail. Bray, Cotton, and Jennifer Williams have been charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Trafficking Meth. Cotton was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. They are being held at the Paulding Co. Jail. Charges are still pending on Devin Johnson at this time.
