Update on Local Teams in Macon for the State Wrestling Tournament

 

Bremen

The Bremen Blue Devils topped Social Circle in the first round of the state wrestling tournament in Macon, Ga.  They won their first match convincingly 48-24 over Social Circle.  With the win over Social Circle the Blue Devils advance to the Semi-Finals and will square off against Gordon Lee Saturday morning the 15^th of January.  Bremen needs just two more wins away from receiving its fourth consecutive State Dual crown. 

 

Mt. Zion

The Mt. Zion Eagles also made the trip down to Macon for the state tournament.  The Eagles lost to Commerce in the opening round 62-18.  Now Mt. Zion moves into the consolation round of the tournament and will face Turner County this afternoon.  Turner County lost to Holy Innocents 78-0. 

 

Carrollton

The Carrollton Trojans lost in their first round matchup against Gilmer County.  Gilmer county topped the Trojans 46-28.  Carrollton with their loss dropped to the consolation round as well and was matched against North Hall late Friday night.  The Trojans defeated North Hall 40-30.  With the Trojan win they will move on and face Woodward Academy Saturday morning.
