Uncle Charged In Shooting Death Of Nephew

A Roopville man is starting the week after Thanksgiving behind bars in Carroll County after deputies say he shot to death his nephew following a physical altercation over the weekend.
Carroll County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Marc Griffith says alcohol was possibly a factor--- contributing to an already tense relationship between the alleged shooter and the victim.
The two men were attending a holiday get-together Saturday at a residence on Coral Drive in Whitesburg when the incident occurred.
"Two of the attendees at this Thanksgiving gathering got into an altercation," Griffith told WLBB Radio. "Witnesses say the two men did drink alcohol that evening prior to the dispute and once the gun was introduced, a shot was fired, striking the victim. He was pronounced deceased at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton."
Griffith says the victim received a single gunshot to the chest. The victim has been identified as 29-year old Nicholas Reid Madden of Bowdon.
52-year old Jacky Junior Cline was arrested and charged with murder. Griffith says he was arrested without further incident a short time after the shooting. Cline is expexcted to have his first hearing on Monday.
