CARROLLTON, GA – The West Georgia Transition Council, an organization dedicated to transitioning students with disabilities into the workplace, is hosting a Transition and Job Fair for high school juniors, seniors, former students and their parents this Thursday, March 7, from noon to 4 p.m. at East Carrollton Recreation Center.
Fair participants include employers and services providers Honda-Tallapoosa, Janus International, The Home Depot, Belk, TJ Maxx, Publix, Roosevelt-Warm Springs, Briggs & Associates, Cave Spring, WIA Career Connection, Pathways, Parent to Parent, Carroll County Training Center, Carroll County ARC, Carrollton Housing Authority-Youth Service Program, DBHDD Region 6 Medicaid Waivers, Tanner Volunteer Services, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, West Georgia Transition Council, Carrollton Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department/Special Olympics and Down Syndrome Association of America, Carrollton Police and Fire departments, Villa Rica Police Department, DeVry, Kennesaw State, Clayton State and Jacksonville State universities, Carroll County Sheriff’s and Fire departments, University of West Georgia, West Georgia Technical College, Ga College 411 and all four branches of the U.S. military.
The fair is sponsored by Carroll County Exceptional Children Services, Carrollton City Schools Special Education and the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency.
