Students To Make Up Missing Days

news@newstalk1330.com
Carrol County Ga -- Carroll County Schools students will likely have to make up two of the seven days they have missed so far this school year due to inclement weather.

Superintendent Scott Cowart made the recommendation to the school board on Monday: "We have lost seven days due to sever weather but due to our  strategic waivers contract we don't have to make the days up. However, based on input from our teachers and administrators we think it is important to give our teachers two of those days back in February. We currently have those days as a teacher work day and a holiday. That will help them as they work with our students to prepare for the end of the year."

On Thursday, the school board will make a decision to amend the 2017-18 calendar to make the professional learning day on February 16th and the President's Day holiday on February 19th instructional days.
