The young woman who has played an important role in the organizing of some of Carrollton’s most popular events and attractions over the last several years is leaving her role as Carrollton Main Street Director at the end of this month.
Jessica Reynolds has accepted a new position with the state Department of Community Affairs as the Communications and Training Coordinator for the Office of Downtown Development.
Carrollton’s Assistant City Manager, Tim Grizzard says Reynolds will be missed.
“She has really grown the Main Street program. She has rare combination of skills—she’s very creative and she’s good at raising money; she’s developed a lot of the means and mechanisms they use to make these events bigger,” Grizzard said this week. “Mayfest has grown… Taste of Carrollton has grown… and the amount of members in the Main Street program has grown… and the money spent through that program, of course comes back into the downtown. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about her and I know she’ll do very well in her new position with the state.”
In 2012, the Carrollton Main Street program won the annual “Award of Excellence in Downtown Development;” the highest Georgia Award a downtown program can win.
