Any precinct closings in Carroll County will not happen until at least 2013, says Carroll County Elections Supervisor Becky Deese on Wednesday’s WLBB Community Voice program. “I made the decision to wait until 2013, simply because we are going to be so busy this year with (possibly five additional) elections and reapportionment,” she says. “I hope our attentions can (now) be focused to the positive things about elections and building our percentage of voters and let’s get of this one issue.”
Deese admits, had supporters of the Fairfield precinct not been so vocal about not moving the polling place from the gated-community, consolidations would have likely taken place in time for the November 2012 elections.
