NWS: Hurricane Matthew Won't Affect West Georgia

Local meteorologists are keeping an eye on Hurricane Matthew.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Monday, "while there remains significant uncertainty in the track of Matthew in the long range, the threat to the southeastern U.S. coast has increased.
Meteorologist Nicole Listema with the National weather Service in Peachtree City told WLBB Radio Tuesday morning, chances are slim at this point that our listening area would see much impact.
“No. As of this time right now, the only effect Carrollton might experience is a little breeziness. We are not expecting any rain at this time,” she said. “The strongest weather associated with Matthew should stay along the coast; that’s what we think at this time.”
Hurricane Matthew is expected to approach Georgia on Friday or Saturday of this week.
