Millage Rate Decrease For Two West Georgia Cities

Both the cities of Temple and Bremen seeing small decreases in their millage rates, set on Monday.
Temple City council approved dropping their rate from 7.05 mills to 7.042 mills following a recommendation from the state.
Bremen has two separate rates to sort through.
“The Haralson tax millage is proposed for reduction from 7.113 down to 7.08,” City Manager Perry Hicks addressed council last night. “As far as the millage rate for Carroll County, that proposed millage rate is 7.085. These millages will generate significant revenue to fund our adopted and appropriated revenue for the fiscal year 2014 budget.”
Bremen City Council approved both recommendations.
Hicks added that the due date for property taxes is December second—the first business day in December.
