Latest Recruiting News on 2018 Quarterback, Emory Jones

Bwrightsports1@gmail.com

Emory Jones is a name you all should familiarize yourselves with over the next couple of years. The 2018 Heard County High quarterback already has 12 division 1 offers after playing only his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Rivals lists him as a pro-style quarterback, but 247 sports and his highlight tape show otherwise. After winning the strongest arm award at the Rivals Challenge in Baltimore, and rushing for plenty of yards over the past two years, you can safely assume he has both skill-sets. He is currently 33rd in the Rivals 2018 top 100, and he is the #3 QB on that list.

During his freshman year, he started all 13 games and lead his team to the 3rd round of the state playoffs where they fell to Brooks County by a score of 35-34. Last year, he lead his team to a region championship and to the second round of state where they fell to Fitzgerald, 24-7.

Rivals currently lists him as a 4-star QB, but I am sure he will earn that elusive 5th star over the next two years. Emory has received offers from these 12 schools:

  •  Alabama
  •  Cincinnati
  •  Clemson
  •  Georgia
  •  Miami
  •  North Carolina
  •  West Virginia
  •  Florida
  • Mississippi State
  • Tennessee
  • Colorado State
  • Georgia Southern

He has unofficially visited Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi State and Alabama. 247 sports states that Tennessee is in the lead right now with a 'warmer' rating, while Clemson, Georgia, and Mississippi State are close behind with a 'warm' rating. Clemson just offered Jones yesterday, so look for them to pursue him heavily this summer.

With two years left in his high school football career, Emory Jones is definitely going to make some noise in the recruiting world. Will he go to Alabama and be a part of a dynasty? Or, will he look to start a new dynasty at Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, or any of the other schools?
