Intersection Traffic Signal Out Due to Construction Project

Carrollton Ga -- Drivers through downtown Carrollton are encouraged to use extra caution while construction continues at the intersection of Maple Street and Alabama Street.
The traffic signal at that intersection will be in flash mode for the next two weeks, and drivers should treat the area as a four way stop.

"At this time, they are widening the curve radiuses at the intersection to allow for the right movements that'll be installed later," said Carrollton City Engineer Tommy Holland

Holland said that once the project is complete, traffic should run smoother approaching and driving away from Adamson Square.

Holland added, " The intersection is being improved and realigned to basically do away with the turn signals which will create right in and right out on both Maple and Barne Street. The Alabama traffic will be able to continue straight through. This will allow the trafficfrom backing up to the square."

The city is also planning to improve the sidewalk and crosswalks at the intersection.
