Human Remains Discovered In Wooded Area

Carrollton Police are working to learn more about human remains that were discovered in a wooded area near the 300 block of Clifton Terrace over the weekend.
Investigators believe the remains had been out there for awhile.
“At this point, it appears that the body may be that of a homeless person,” CPD Capt. Shannon Cantrell told WLBB Radio. “We cannot identify if the remains are of a male or female at this point. We cannot identify the age. And, based upon what we saw during the initial investigation last night, foul play is not suspected at this time.”
The remains were discovered on a “well-traveled” path that runs from the railroad track to Clifton Terrace.
Cantrell says it may take two to three weeks for the crime lab to release details that would help identify the remains.
