“Illegal aliens are going to the Mexican consulate—which is pumping out passports to them,” Hightower said Thursday. “They in turn use those passports to try to establish a legal presence in our country.
Hightower says the passports were never meant to be used for that purpose.
The amendment to the passed-bill simply states:
The term- “secure and verifiable document” shall not include any foreign passport unless the passport is submitted with a valid United States Homeland security form or other federal documents specifying an alien’s lawful presence in our country.
The amendment to House Bill 125 passed out of sub-committee Thursday and could be brought before full committee as early as Monday.
