Harvest Dinner Highlights Award Winners

The 2013 Harvest Dinner held at the Carroll Ag-Education Center Tuesday night highlighted agriculture and business partnerships in Carroll County and celebrated National Farm-City Week. This year’s award winners included Ray Fulford, founder/owner of Ra-Lin Construction and Southern Home and Ranch, Business Award; local rancher Randy Carden, Agribusiness Award; and, Winston Jones and Amy Lavender of the Times-Georgian, the Special Award for press coverage and support of the agricultural community.

A gathering of over 120 enjoyed Georgia grown foods and a presentation by keynote speaker, Bo Warren, Director of Business Development for the Georgia Department of Agriculture. He shared annual growth trends in Georgia’s $71 million agriculture sector, including over $230 million supporting the Carroll County economy.

The Annual Harvest Dinner is hosted by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, AgSouth Farm Credit, UGA Cooperative Extension-Carroll County, Carroll County Farm Bureau, Carroll Electric Membership Corporation and Tanner Health System.
