Goodwill to Host Community Job Fair

Part of Goodwill Week, Full Week of Events Focused on Organization’s Mission

When                   Tuesday, May 6    2:00 – 4:00PM, AND Wednesday, May 7  10:00AM – Noon
 
 Where                  Goodwill Carrollton Career Center
                              1301-D South Park Street
                              Carrollton, GA
 
 
What                     In observance of Goodwill Week 2014, several local employer representing multiple area industries will be on site to connect with job seekers.
 
The list of employers include – AFLAC, Tanner Health System, West Georgia Technical College, Express Employment Professionals, Elwood Staffing, Avon Products, Preferred Personnel Solutions and Georgia Department of Community Affairs(will provide Resource Information).
 
The Goodwill Career Center will also host a community resource fair on Wednesday, May 7 from 10am – noon.  Resource agencies will include HUD/FHA, Workforce Development: A Division of Three Rivers Regional Commission, West Georgia Technical College (Admissions and VA), Southern Crescent Area Agency on Aging, Carrollton Housing Authority Youth Services and AmeriGroup.

Why                      Each year, Goodwill Southern Rivers participates in national ‘Goodwill Industries Week’, by hosting several job fairs and skills/resource workshops throughout West Georgia and East Alabama.  Goodwill’s mission is to help individual with disadvantages and disabilities in the community to secure sustainable employment through education, training, work experience and career placement services.  All of these programs, including job fairs, are made possible through donations of gently used clothing and household goods that are sold in Goodwill Retail stores.  For more information visit www.goodwillsr.org.
