Crashes In North & South Carroll County Result In Two Fatalities

A Heard County man died late Friday as a result of injuries he sustained during a single-vehicle accident in southern Carroll County.
According to a report by the Georgia State Patrol, 37-year old Josh Shelnutt failed to maintain his lane while traveling westbound on HWY 5 just east of the Shiloh Church Road intersection.
Shelnutt was a father of two young girls and attended Heard County schools with the Class of 1998.
Meanwhile, the GSP continues to investigate an accident caused by a single car on I-20 in Villa Rica Friday morning that resulted in injury to several construction workers and the death of another.
Investigators have said they suspect that the driver of the car was "impaired" at the time of the crash.
According to GSP, the construction workers were GDOT subcontractors working for a Florida-based company called Olympus Painting and were doing sanding and painting on the roadway before the crash.
