Construction Worker Killed In NW Carroll After Trench Caves In

A construction worker was killed in Waco this morning, while in a trench, the earth around caved in.
Once notified, emergency crews from Carroll and Haralson Counties; and West GA Ambulance raced to the scene. They were able to pull the man from the dirt but were unable to resuscitate him.
Carroll County Fire Chief Scott Blue says crews were notified around 11:23 Monday morning of "a traumatic injury" at 555 Jake Buncombe Road in Waco.
"They were grading for some chicken houses-- the company name is Thompson Grading," Blue told WLBB Radio. "We can confirm one fatality from a collapse of a trench."
The Carroll County Coroner has yet to confirm the name of the deceased.

Local authorities and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident.
