Carrollton Insurance Agent Charged W/ Fraud & Forgery

An insurance agent based in Carrollton was arrested Tuesday on seven counts of insurance fraud and three counts of forgery, according to an article posted online by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
32-year old Lynne Marie Webb is accused of pocketing auto insurance premiums paid by her clients between 2015 and last year, instead of forwarding the money to the Robert Kenimer State Farm Agency insurance company, where she was employed.
Investigators for the state's insurance department's Fraud Division believe she embezzled about $2,712.
Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens suggests that Mrs. Webb's alleged actions have put consumers at significant financial risk.
Webb could face between two to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000 if she is found guilty of the charge.

Webb was taken to the Carroll County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000.
