Carrol County Commissioner Will Not Run

Carrol County Ga -- Carroll County's District Two Commissioner, Vickie Anderson, has notified WLBB that she will not seek re-election in 2018.

Qualifying for the elections begins in March with partisan races planned for May.

Discussing on why she has decided not to continue as a commissioner, Anderson said, "After twelve years on the board, it's just time for someone different to represent the district." District two currently covers portions of Villa Rica including the Fairfield Community.

2018 will see four Carroll County Commission races on the ballots. Usually only three races occur every two years, an even split of the commission, but this year will see an additional race for District One. The position is currently held by Trent North who will be stepping down at the end of the year.

In addition to District One and Two, races will be held for District Four and Six, which are held by Michelle Morgan and George Chambers Respectively.
