Car Crash Claims Two in Villa Rica

Villa Rica Ga -- Two men were killed early Tuesday following a single vehicle crash in Villa Rica.

The Georgia State Patrol said that speed was likely the cause of the crash.

Georgia State Patrol told WLBB Radio that, at around 1:00 AM on Tuesday, a Chevy Silverado with four people inside was traveling west on Rockmart Road in Villa Rica. The vehicle was traveling too fast for a curve and traveled off the south side of the road. The vehicle struck two utility poles and a sign before overturning. None of the occupants of the vehicle were restrained. The 23-year-old driver, Douglas Bass of Douglasville, and a 30-year-old passenger, Mathew Brown of North Carolina, were killed in the crash. Two others were seriously injured. The crash remains under investigation.
