CPD Say SOMA Shooting Stemmed From Drugs & Robbery; Arrests Made

Carrollton Police on Thursday (also) made arrests related a shooting at the SOMA Apartments, that happened last month.

On August 8th, police responded to the apartment complex on Hay's Mill Road following a report of a 22-year old man receiving a gun-shot to the chest.
"We arrived to find the victim lying in the doorway with a wound to his chest," Captain Chris Dobbs told WLBB Radio that Tuesday afternoon. "He is being life-flighted to an Atlanta-area hospital."

The victim did survive his injuries.

Dobbs said witnesses describe two black males running from the scene around the time of the shooting.

Presumably, those are the two men taken into custody Thursday.

19-year old Marven Arnold Boireau from Covington and 18-year old Chazz Derrance Tanner are now both in the Carroll County Jail and charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault.

Captain Shannon Cantrell says investigators believe Tanner had purchased marijuana from the victim, then returned to the apartment building a few minutes later with Boireau. The two men allegedly robbed and shot the victim.
