CCWA Plans Service Expansion In 2017

The Carroll County Water Authority is in the process of planning between six and eight miles of water main extensions throughout Carroll County— a one million dollar investment, CCWA Executive Director Matt Windom said this week.

He estimates that between 10 and 15-percent of the county population is still served by private wells.

The CCWA has not yet determined the final locations for the extension, but Windom says Banning Road, Highway 5 West, Horton Road, and Black Dirt Road are “high on the list for consideration.”

“ We look at roads that are paved and without our service for higher priority, because there is likely a better shoulder for install… and there are likely more homes and a bigger population in those areas,” Windom explained.

The project could be bid out as soon as November; then started in the first quarter of 2017 and complete by the end of summer 2017.
