Armed Robbery Suspect In Custody After Pointing Gun At Police

A 34-year old Atlanta man is behind bars in Carroll County, accused of entering the O'Reilly Auto Parts Store in Bremen, wearing a ski mask and forcing the employees into the office at gun point. He may also be responsible for several other armed robberies recently.
Dante Starks is so far charged with armed robbery and eight counts of aggravated assault for the incident early Tuesday morning which allegedly involved Starks pointing his gun at Bremen Police Sergeant Mike Bell.
Bell and other officers had responded to a panic alarm from the store around 8:00 a.m.
According to police reports, Bell confronted the suspect at which time Starks pointed the gun at the Sergeant. The suspect then fled the building.
Outside were officer Zachary Butler and Haralson County Corporal Mullinex. They were able to take Starks into custody without further incident.
Investigators believe the suspect to be responsible for other recent armed robberies in Douglas and Fulton Counties along with Villa Rica and Tyrone cities.
Breman Police Chief Keith Pesnell on Tuesday commended the bravery and success of the officers who were able to apprehend the suspect.
