Armed Robberies At Two Local Stores In Two Days

Carrollton Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store over the weekend.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning at the Texaco station on Alabama Street.
The report states that the female clerk emerged from the store’s back room to find a man wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt brandishing a handgun. The clerk says the suspect pointed the gun at her and placed a black backpack on the store’s counter, demanding that she empty the register into the bag. She complied and the alleged-robber ran out the front door and headed west.
Police are following leads and reviewing surveillance footage. They ask that anyone with any potential information to contact the Carrollton Police Department.
Another convenience store robbed Monday evening; this one in Tallapoosa.
According to Inv. Mark Worthy, the suspect dressed in gray “hoodie,” black ball cap and mask entered the Quick Stop Convenience store located at the corner of Golf Course Road and 78 at approx. 8:00 pm.
The suspect shot the clerk with an air-soft BB pistol, according to Worthy; leaving a whelp on the victim's side.
Worthy says that after the suspect received money from the clerk, he sprayed the victim with pepper spray.
"The clerk is a little shook up but he should be fine," said Worthy.
Police are currently reviewing video footage from the store hoping for more clues.
Anyone with possible information on the suspect or the incident should call the Tallapoosa Police Department.
